What are the benefit in Training Your puppy. Dog
What are the benefit in Training Your Dog/puppy?
Some people see dog training as a one-way street upon which a trainer/ handler teaches dog obedience, commands like: sit, down, wait, stay, walk nicely on lead, not to jump up, go to bed, etc. a dog trainer teaches a dog, and the dog learns and that’s it.
The reality is a dog’s life will be improved through good training. You see, dog training should be an interaction and a bonding process. You will always learn something new or more about your dog’s personality, those little quirks that we all love about our beloved companion.
Dog training allows you to teach your dog the appropriate behaviours. In the home, out on walks, when meeting people if he is trained he will be respectful and will have manners.
There are advantages for you as well, as your dog, which is evident. You and your family will have a companion with whom you have a great relationship. People will admire your dog for being so well mannered. You also benefits from having a “good” dog, one who doesn’t destroy your home or tries your patience at every turn.
These are very real benefits and should not be disregarded or trivialized. However, when you closely examine dog training, you will find that as your dogs’ trainer you will gain even more from interaction with your dog.
You will gain insight into your dogs’ personality during the training process. You will find your dogs’ weaknesses as well as his strengths. You may also learn that patience is not your dogs’ natural strength and that any training method forced on him will be counterproductive, and may break down your relationship, avoid this happening by contacting pauline@k9harmony.co.uk And we can work together to avoid the pitfalls.
Training requires commitment and willingness it’s not just about teaching “sit, heel, and rollover.” It is about working with and interacting with another living being over a period of time.
If your views on dog training are merely the enforcement of rules using negative reinforcement and of being confrontational then you are incorrect. And you’re not doing justice to the wonderful process of dog training.
There is so much more to it, and there is a great deal you will learn from both your dog and the training process itself.
Dog training is more than an exercise in learning and understanding for a dog. It is an exercise in learning and understanding for you as well.
